Quintron and Miss Pussycat are from New Orleans, Louisiana and their show is not to be missed. Miss Pussycat does a offbeat and freeform puppet show and Quintron makes unique and upbeat electronic rock music.  On May 10th they are performing at The Lager House with Human Eye and Gary Wrong. Here is an interview with them about their projects, their tour, and how they feel about Detroit...

When did you and Miss Pussycat meet?

We met on the street we live on right now...in front of this big pink poor boy shop called Genes.  I was walking down the street and this beat up station wagon pulls up and she yells "hey Quintron get in the car".  I was playing her club that night and I guess she just knew it was me.  BAck in the day a guy like me would stick out walking in front of Genes.  True story...and I didn't even answer your question.

What is your favorite part about performing and traveling together?

We usually ride in separate vehicles these days or I take the bus. but I guess being onstage lighting fires in peoples hearts is the best part.  And learning the new puppet show is always a highlight for me.  This puppet show is great.  Its about a Grizzly Bear that goes into outer space.  Miss P has really outdone herself on this one.

How is your tour going? As a veteran touring musician do you have any advice for musicians who are about to tour?

Don't trick yourself into thinking its awesome or punk rock to eat McDonalds every day....fuck that.  Eat out of a dumpster.  Also don't let the dick sound guy intimidate you....just because their life sucks and they want to go home and masturbate to Slayer does not mean that you have to get all bummed out and do a crappy show.  Your obligation is to the night...not the rats that run through it.  Anyways, this problem has become less and less frequent.  I actually get kinda psyched when we come across a real old school 80s style asshole sound guy.  The best one ever was this dude (I'm not gonna say the town) who actually tested the PA by playing his own bass thru it for an hour.

What are your main influences?

Girls and partying and death.

What do you like about Detroit? Do you see similarities between Detroit and New Orleans?

THis is a HUGE question.  we love Detroit so much.  I can't even tell you why.  Its weird and open minded and working class and tough all at the same time...kinda like New Orleans.  Memphis and Baltimore have some similar qualities.  You guys will call pretty much any insane noise rock and roll and the rest of the world follows.  I also like that weird steam that comes up from the streets...and I like the Demolition Dollrods and the MC 5 and HUman Eye and Wolf Eyes and Andrew WK and the NUge and Motown and Bulb Records.

What creative projects are next for you?

I just invented this drone synth that is totally controlled by the weather called THE SINGING HOUSE.  I'm gonna keep working on that. Oh, and I'm playing drums in GAry Wrong (Chad and Benny from Wizzard Sleeve) who are playing this show with us in Detroit....but that isn't really creative its more destructive.
