The boys of Deer Tick are back on the road supporting their acclaimed 2011 record, Divine Providence (Partisan Records), which was not only one of my favorite records of last year, but #14 on Paste’s Best Albums of 2011 list. In February, the band released a free EP titled, Tim, which is comprised of four unreleased songs taken from the same sessions as Divine Providence. These guys never really stop working, as John McCauley and Robbie Crowell have also spent the last year making a record (out 4/24) with their new band, Diamond Rugs, a rock ‘n roll supergroup, of sorts, that includes members of Los Lobos, Dead Confederate, Black Lips, and Six Finger Satellite.

Turbo Fruits, a Nashville four-piece (led by Jonas Stein – ex-Be Your Own Pet), are known for their explosive live act...crazy, loud solos combined with their sneering, playful attitudes that go perfectly with their dirty garagey/surf rock sound.
