Show Preview: Major Lazer with Dragonette ROMT, Fri. Mar. 1
March is going to get kicked off with a mighty boom as the Major Lazer crew drop into Royal Oak Music Theatre to play their signature reggae inspired dubstep. Major Lazer is the project helmed by studio DJ extraordinaire, Diplo and a few of his cohorts. They dance, rap, chant and float across the crowd to driving beats that pelt the crowd into their own hypnotic movements. They just released a new ep you can download for free that features 4 of their latest tracks. The knockout track is the "Jah No Partial" remix with Flux Pavillion.
Making this show extra special is support act, Dragonette, who could have surely headlined their own tour. You might remember them from their synthpop smash hit, "Hello" which had everyone singing along with last year. Their new release is "Bodyparts" which features 12 more songs of synth and dance. "Bodyparts" has an overall polish to it that should make those tracks shine on stage.
Sneaking their way onto the bill as well is Gent & Jawns who as explained of their facebook page are "a couple of dudes that make beats." The fun is to be had this Friday with doors at 8pm.
