Energetic Brooklyn indie-rock couple, Matt & Kim, will
be heading back to metro Detroit with Passion Pit and Icona Pop on Thursday,
February 21, 2013. The indie-dance spectacular will take place at Compuware
Arena in Plymouth, MI. Matt & Kim
are currently on the road in support of their latest studio release Lightning. Lightning’s
first single, “Let’s Go” is a bouncy radio-ready anthem and a preview of the rest
of the album. Matt & Kim are road-warriors
with a seemingly never-ending tour schedule and their live shows never fail to
ignite an all out dance party. Kim takes on the role of resident drummer and booty
shaker, while Matt handles the keyboards, vocal duties, and party starting. In the past, Matt and Kim have played many headlining
shows in Metro Detroit, and have also handled opening duties for acts including
Nas, My Chemical Romance, and Blink 182. On stage, Matt & Kim throw a zany indie-rock
party, throwing in splices of hip hop, dance music, and pop-punk.
Also on the bill for this tour are Passion Pit and Icona
Pop. Last week, this pairing made plenty of noise for playing a massive show at
New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden. Passion Pit are currently riding
high with their album Gossamer ,
which produced the hits “Take a Walk” and “Carried Away”. Swedish electro-pop
duo Icona Pop are currently soaring up the iTunes charts with “I Love It”,
which gained recent notoriety with its inclusion on HBO’s series “Girls”.
