UPCOMING: Dead in 5 at the The Token Lounge in Westland on Saturday, May 4

When Detroit rockers Dead in 5 planned their CD release party for Saturday May 4 at The Token Lounge, the group was confident their six song debut EP would be finished in plenty of time for the celebration.  But just short of their manufacturing deadline, the band’s producer, Andy Patalan (owner of The Loft Studios in Saline and guitarist for Platinum hit-makers Sponge), gave them a call.  “Something wasn’t right,” explains Dead in 5 guitarist Brent Hall. Patalan informed the anxious group that there was a technical glitch – and in order to get the sound perfect – there would have to be some re-recording.
“It’s not what we wanted to hear – but we were grateful that Andy cared enough to get it right,” adds guitarist Peder Seglund.
So with a few tracks redone the disc will be ready for release – but unfortunately not in time for Dead in 5’s official release party on May 4. To appease fans – the band will be giving away one single from forthcoming disc to everyone who attends.  “And we’ll be throwing a hell of a party anyway!” affirms Dead in 5 lead singer Robert Libres.
Joined by a potent line up of hard rock bands that includes Crackjaw, Mindrought, Spork, and Downriver Zero, the party will also feature a Lucky Monkey Tattoo giveaway, tarot card readings, a "six-way" birthday party, and in a nod to Cinco De Mayo – a skull piƱata and ice luge! Raw Radio X's Rikki Roxx will also act as MC.
While Dead in 5’s debut CD won’t be available at the show – fans will be able to buy band T-shirts, and lead singer Robert Libres’ infamous homemade hot sauces “Demon’s Blood” and “Face Melter.”
Dead in 5 anticipates their CD will be ready in time for the band's upcoming shows at The Blind Pig (Ann Arbor) on May 10 and Churchill’s (Flint) on May 11.
Outlaw rockers Dead in 5 includes former members of three-time Detroit Music Award winners for “Outstanding Hard Rock Group” 60 Second Crush and acclaimed metal outfit Mansfield Park.  The 5-piece original rock act evokes a hemi-powered mash up of Clutch, Soundgarden and Rob Zombie.  It’s a rock and roll juggernaut guaranteed to get fists pumping.
