Show Preview: Forever Festival Sept. 27 Freedom Hill Amphitheatre

Giving our summer one last kick in the rear Forever Festival is coming to Freedom Hill Amphitheatre next Friday, September 27.  Starting at 4:30pm Forever Fest packs in a stellar lineup that includes Calvin Harris, Flux Pavillion, Morgan Page, Beats Antique, Project 46, Cookie Monsta and more.

Here’s the spiel on some of the artists performing:

Adam Richard Wiles better known as Calvin Harris is at this in his career a DJ/Producer superstar up there with the likes of David Guetta. However, I remember Calvin from back in 2008 with his debut album “I Created Disco” which was more of an electronic pop album with than his dancer/producer material that dominates his third album  “18 Months.” He’s worked with tons of pop stars from Rhianna to LMFAO. It will be interesting to see what his show his like as an actual headliner.

Flux Pavilion along with Doctor P was one of the 2nd generation of dubstep music makers from overseas. He’s only 24 and has already put himself to the forefront of the heavy dance scene. He comes across a little more low key compared to some of his outspoken conspirators, but Flux Pavilion is more about the whole experience of sound, lights and madness as opposed to onstage antics.

Morgan Page is a progressive house DJ that has been around since 2000 and has even had two Grammy Award nominations. His music is smooth, electronic dance that should be a good break between some of more bombastic grooves from other artists.

Keeping with the diversity of the show, Beats Antique is something a very different from the usual DJ artists as they are a more a fusion band mixing in different genres of dance music with performance art.
Several other artists are on the bill including local DJs Captn20, Veetz and Clico.  Because it’s Michigan in September, I’d warn you to dress warm for this event but that won't be necessary with all the heat rising from these fantastic artists.
