In about an hour you can catch an earful from Xiao Dong Wei who will be on WDET 101.9 Craig Fahle's show today April 2nd ( Tuesday) from 11:20-11:40am.
Also, during the week of April 10th, she will be playing three FREE concerts as part of the ArtX Detroit event - a five day celebration that will include new Visual works and performances, musical experiments, literary readings and more, all from the Kresge Artist Fellows. There will be multiple shows each night, starting on Wed. April 10th and finishing up on Sunday April 14th.

On April 11th, Thursday evening 7:30pm at the Music Box inside the Max Fisher Music Center (aka Orchestra Hall), she will be playing a concert titled "World Without Borders". Performers will include Yang Wei - a Chinese virtuoso Pipa player, who tours often with Yo Yo Ma's "Silk Road Project"; Hossein Behroozina- a world-renowned Iranian Barbat master; Kofi Ameyaw- an amazing percussionist from Ghana; another great percussionist Michael Shimmin, Abdurahman Baris on Kurdish Tembur and Justin Sobczynski on Guitar. They will be playing a wide-ranging variety of music with arrangements that are sure to be heard here for the first time. There will be Chinese traditional dances, performed by the Chinese Dance Troupe of Metro Detroit Oriental Art School.
April 12th, Friday evening at 7:30pm, at the same location (Music Box inside Orchestra Hall), XD will be playing a classical performance with an ensemble of 10 wonderful musicians from the DSO, along with her friend, pianist Yuki Mack. This set will be a mixture of traditional Chinese & Western classics. She will also be debuting 2 more modern works, written by Italian composers Massimiliano Messieri and Michael Thomas Foumai. Mr. Messieri will travel to Detroit from Italy, to be in attendance for this premiere.
April 14th, Sunday evening at 8:30pm, she will be playing with her band "Wolf Smoke" at the Magic Stick, located inside the Majestic Theater at 4120 Woodward Ave. Detroit. This will be a fun and retrospective-type set, covering the many musical styles XD has played since moving to Detroit in 2005. There will be many special guests with musicians from the "WEI", "XD WEI" and "Madame XD" bands.
