Three good bands are playing the Pike Room on Wednesday, June 6th, The Silent Comedy, Ryan Star and The Parlotones. The Silent Comedy have been all over the world playing a unique blend of folk and rock. Also on the bill is Ryan Star, I saw him play almost 2 years ago with Thriving Ivory. At that show he thrilled the audience with music from his 11:59 release. He proved he could hold his own so well I am surprised he's continuing to warm up this show and not headlining his own. He has a new ep called "America" that you can download from his facebook page. The ep is 4 stripped down songs that bring the real essence of Ryan Star's charisma. Closing the show is The Parlotones, a band from South Africa known for their polished, eclectic sound. Their big, no make that huge in their homeland, where they have played songs to some 19,000 fans. Their new album "Journey Through the Shadows" was released on May 8th and includes the single "Save Your Best Bits."
