ROYAL OAK, MI - June 8th, 2010, Royal Oak Music Theatre, once again ROMT brings some talent to the area in a cozy venue between the velvet drapes, One Eskimo sets the stage for Michael Franti & Spearhead.
I showed up biased that One Eskimo would kinda suck, based on that one song, you know, bayeyeyeyeeeey bayeye, blah blah,blah, the radio over played it again and again...and again. anywho, they have a great sound! diverse songs with a range of instruments and one of the most interesting drum set I've ever seen.
Franti and Spearhead took the stage at about 9:35pm, the place was packed and the crowd couldn't get enough. The music was rhythmic and driving, convincing but i couldn't understand the lyrics from where i was standing in the pit, reminded me of Bob Marley a little, but less blown out.
