LP RELEASE “TIMES NEW ROMAN”
JUNE 24th, MAGIC BAG
After two years in the studio Dutch Pink is set to release their fourth album, “Times New Roman” on Thursday, June 24th at the Magic Bag Theater in collaboration with the Loco Gnosis Collective.
Dutch Pink, (Dustin Leslie, Clyde Mashinter, and David Iannuzzi) a Ferndale based trio, has stood brazen against tinselly musical trends since their inception in 2004. Their music has been described as “A twisted indie-fed take on American roots music” (MT 2008) and also “raw, eclectic, and sometimes savage alt-folk” (Detroit Free Press 2007).
Written in the spring of 2008 and recorded by Dan Currie at “The Bunker” in Royal Oak, “Times New Roman” is Dutch Pink’s most deliberate work to date. It is a narrative driven album that reflects a band wholly comfortable with their voice. Murder ballads, heartbreak, and hope entangled with a blue-collared verve.
