"What happens when everyone in a community reads the same book at the same time? You can discover your own answer by participating in Detroit’s Big Read, an exciting community wide conversation and program about Zora Neale Hurston’s classic “Their Eyes Were Watching God.”
The Detroit Public Library is partnering with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Wayne State University Library System and DPL Friends Foundation to celebrate literary reading. DPL and its partners invite the community to read Their Eyes Were Watching God and participate in a month long series of programs including book discussions, film screenings and special events. All events are open to the public and free of charge.
