Hatch Presents Topher Crowder at Café 1923
Topher Crowder, well known for his intricate black ink drawings, is exhibiting numerous new works at Café 1923 in Hamtramck.
The self-titled show includes drawings, painting, and prints, all priced to sell.
Crowder recently earned his MFA at Wayne State but has been actively showing his work in the Detroit area for many years.
His drawings are packed with narrative, showing influences of underground comics from the 60's and 70's.
At times funny, at times grotesque, and always engaging, his work cannot be ignored.
The show will have two receptions with the artist.
The opening is Friday, March 11 from 6 to 9 pm.
There will also be a closing reception on Friday, April 8 from 6 to 9 pm.
Café 1923 is located at 228 Holbrook in Hamtramck.
Hatch, a grassroots non-profit organization that organizes and promotes the arts in and around Hamtramck, is the show's organizer.
They have been exhibiting continuous art shows at Café 1923, a unique and eclectic coffee shop, since it opened 5 years ago.
