Metro 37 Recording Studios
host their 8th annual Christmas Party
at The Ritz (24300 Hoover Rd,
Warren, MI) on Saturday December 12 at 7 p.m.
Hometown hit-makers
Sponge headline the show, which is open to the public, ages 18 and over.
Tickets are $12 in advance, and $15 on the day of the show, and now
available via etix.com or
at the venue.
In addition to Sponge, the
party includes a rare reunion by Ann Arbor based melodic alternative rockers
Solid Frog (featuring Sponge’s Kyle Neely and Andy Patalan) in addition to live
music by area bands One Block South, Most Wanted and
Sixe.
Hailing from Detroit,
Sponge gained widespread notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata,”
released in August 1994. Hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" fueled
massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation
on MTV in the late 90's. After "Rotting Piñata" went Gold, the band toured
internationally, and followed up with the critically lauded CD “Wax Ecstatic,”
garnering additional hits "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?” Sponge will
have copies of their latest CDs “Rotting Alive,” and “Deep Cuts Live,” plus
limited edition T-shirts for sale at the show.
It’s an honor to have Sponge
perform at our party. They were one of the bands that inspired me to do what I
do,” says Metro 37 co-owner Kevin Sharpe. Sharpe, along with
co-owner Matt Dalton will be on hand giving away $100 recording studio gift
certificates throughout the night to partygoers.
Opening in 2006, Metro 37 has
recorded thousands of local and national acts at their Rochester Hills based,

Machines, members of Fall Out Boy, and chart busting country artist Alan Turner
among the many high profile artists dropping in to record
tracks.
