Marche du Nain Rouge and Gabriel Hall to Throw Mardi Gras Party with Detroit Style
Mardi Gras en Rouge is a masquerade gala to benefit both the Marche du Nain Rouge parade and Gabriel Hall, a restaurant and music venue planned for West Village.
“This is not only going to be a good time, it’s going to help us raise necessary funds so we can get Gabriel Hall’s doors open and share our music and culture with the city,” says Dameon Gabriel, leader of the Gabriel Hall Brass Band and co-founder of Gabriel Hall.
“A Mardi Gras party -- the music, the masks, the spectacle -- is a perfect way to usher in the Marche season,” says Marche organizer Francis Grunow. “The fundraiser will help us expand our community workshops and bring more Detroit neighborhoods into the parade.”
The party will be 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016. Guests are asked to dress to impress with a splash of red, and wear Mardi Gras masks. Gabriel Hall’s executive chef will offer a preview of the restaurant's offerings, serving up authentic, delicious New Orleans fare, and the bar will be stocked with Mardi Gras cocktails.
Guests can sip a hurricane, nibble some jambalaya and get down to music from O N E F R E Q and Gabriel Brass Band. Plus there will be entertainment from Lushes LaMoan, Caribbean Mardi Gras Productions, DJ Carleton Gholz and Comedian Emcee John Bell.
All tickets include admission and food. There will be a cash bar. Tickets are $50 in advance, and $60 at the door. VIP is $100 and includes admission, food, two drink tickets, reserved seating, table service, a photo opp with the Nain Rouge, and Mardi Gras swag bag. Advance tickets are available at www.mardigrasenrouge.eventbrite.com
All proceeds will benefit Marche du Nain Rouge and Gabriel Hall. The 7th annual Marche du Nain Rouge is a Detroit rite of spring, and takes place March 20, 2016, bringing thousands of people to Midtown to show the spirit of the city. Gabriel Hall is a bar/restaurant which will host live music coming soon to West Village. Gabriel Hall also has a nonprofit branch which serves to preserve the musical Gabriel’s New Orleans and Detroit legacy as well as music outreach to local youths.
