Detroit Bike Week Rolls Into Commerce Township July 29-31
Metro Detroit's Largest Motorcycle Festival Features Live Music, Veterans Traveling Tribute and More
Detroit Bike Week is Metro Detroit's largest Motorcycle festival. Kicking off Friday July 29 and running through Sunday July 31, Detroit Bike Week will be held at the beautiful Multi-Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce Township, Michigan. Tickets are just $10 per day or $15 for a weekend pass and are now available at www.detroitbikeweek.com or at the main gate during the festival. Detroit Bike Week hours are Friday from 4 pm – Midnight, Saturday 10 am – Midnight, and Sunday 10 am – 5 pm.
Highlights of Detroit Bike Week will include a Custom Bike Show, Freestyle Motocross, Demo Rides, Burnout Pits, Miss Detroit Bike Week Babe, ZZ Top Lookalike and Tattoo Contests, Cage Fights, Bikini Bike Wash, Red Stag Boothill Saloon, Bike Blessing, Church Services, and plenty of cool vendors selling wares promoting the biker lifestyle. All bike brands are welcome and all attendees have a chance to win a Red Stag "KID ROCK" guitar.
Detroit Bike Week also features continuous live music, including performances by Detroit favorites The Rockets, and tribute artists for Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Bad Company and Allman Brothers as well as many local bands. On Sunday WYCD presents Country Day with live music by David Shelby, Alan Turner, Redhill, Derringer and more.
In addition to these great festival events, Detroit Bike Week will also host the only 2011 Metro Detroit appearance of the American Veterans Traveling Tribute and Wall. The Tribute and Wall is already making its way from Texas to Michigan where veterans of World Wars I and II, Korea and Vietnam will be honored along with a memorial to 911 and tribute to police and fire. This large traveling Wall fills the space of two football fields and has never before been in Michigan.
The Wall ceremonies will begin the afternoon of Wednesday, July 27 when veterans from all over Michigan will escort The Wall from the Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth to the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association. On Thursday, July 28 the public is invited for a special opening ceremony and viewing of The Wall at 7 pm at the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association. There will also be a Ride of Honor on Sunday July 31.
Multi-Lakes Conservation Association is located at 3860 Newton Rd in Commerce Township, Michigan (in Oakland County just north of Novi). The venue is easy to get to from the highway while still offering a beautiful escape into nature. Sitting on acres of protected land hosting lakes, rolling green hills and trees, the Conservation offers a secluded environment for festival-goers to relax with friends and enjoy this wide variety of activities.
