August 6, 2011-Pop Up Detroit welcomes an eclectic group of Detroit's most talented designers to participate in their first ever fashion show: Art In The Park.
The most sought after fashion event of the summer will be held in beautiful New Center Park, at the corner of Grand Boulevard & Second Ave. Gates open at 6p.m. with the runway show starting at 9p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. Art in the Park will also exhibit the large-scale sculptures of Detroit artists Amanda Box, Eric Froh, Israel Nordin and Scott Barrells.
Each collection is as unique as its designer and styles range from edgy to modern chic.
Designers include: Abigail Rist, Camilo Pardo, Fotoula Lambourg, Kristin Mallison, Kristen Burgett and Kelly Sager.
Art In The Park promises to be a stunning theatrical presentation uniting the artistic components of each individual designer and artist in this sensational celebration of Detroit's artistic community.
Pop Up Detroit will bring back their resident DJ's, Drew Pompa of Blank Artists and Joe Vargas of Tour D'troit to perform throughout the night.
Dethlab DJ's, self-described as, electro, postpunk show tunes, will supply the music to walk the models down the runway.
Pop Up Detroit will be celebrating their one-year anniversary and strive to effectively exhibit the work of Detroit's most talented designers and artists to ultimately make Detroit an international focal point of fashion and art trends.
Art in the Park presented by Pop Up Detroit will start at 6 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
